Crafting Connections is a material and visual game that responds to peoples need to stay in close contact. The rules are simple: One of the participants shares three pictures without explanation, the other two create an object in reaction to the pictures, and then a new round begins. The idea is to raise questions about the influence of relationships and physical distance, not only about friendship but also about the formative and creative process and the reactions it evokes. During Stockholm Craft Week the artist group showed results from the first year of the project, where the game diverted and distorted their usual practice.

Crafting Connections is a project organized by Machteld Lambeets, Margherita Pozzali and Laia Ribas Valls. The group of three met at the department of Ädellab during their master studies at Konstfack University of Arts Crafts and. Whilst having different approaches and focuses in their practice, they share a common love for materials and an interest in everyday objects as carriers of meaning.
