Wounded spoons

Wounded Spoons 2016

Learning by breaking.
To understand materials means not only to understand what they can do but also what they can not do.
The project started by approaching materials I hadn’t worked with before. In the process of understanding those materials I ended up with a bunch of broken spoons. To heal, to cure, to fix  and combine the different pieces and create prothesises  became the core of the project.
The result is a collection of spoons in which different materials and techniques cohexist.
A great attention was put in the connections that aim to show, rather then hide, the broken parts.

Materials
Alabaster, copper, horn, leather, brass, tombak, hard stones, wood, wire, strings....
